Finishing Supervisor

Hammer Creative is seeking a talented Finishing Supervisor to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a post-production expert with a passion for entertainment and video games to lead and shape the finishing process for top-tier campaigns.
The ideal candidate will have prior finishing and post-production experience at a creative agency specializing in advertising and/or entertainment content, along with a positive attitude and the flexibility to thrive in a high-pressure environment—navigating frequent schedule changes with calm, confidence, and professionalism. Interest in working in the video games’ industry is a major plus.
This is a hybrid role based in Los Angeles. While the default is remote work, onsite work may be required on occasion. The salary range for this position is $68,000-$90,000.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Finishing Supervisor will be to support the finishing and post-production efforts of complex, high-value projects ensuring that quality and good working processes are maintained, and that client and the company expectations are met. This includes creating and overseeing all processes, procedures, and outputs for the post-production department. A key metric for success in this role is the percentage of error-free project deliveries, with the goal of minimizing client revisions and ensuring all files meet quality and technical standards on first delivery.
- Design, document, and implement post-production workflows, infrastructure, processes, and templates to ensure efficiency, quality, and team cohesion.
- Establish and enforce best practices and policies across the department, ensuring compliance with standardized post workflows.
- Regularly audit server folder structures, asset storage, and naming conventions to maintain consistency and organization.
- Oversee all aspects of finishing on assigned projects, ensuring timely, high-quality, and error-free final deliveries that meet client expectations.
- Create and maintain finishing memos and deliverables lists for every project, revising them as needed throughout production.
- Schedule and lead finishing game plan meetings; collaborate with department leads in Capture, Art, and Editorial to ensure necessary assets are created for final delivery.
- QC all files prior to delivery, verifying that all requested versions are complete, correct, and meet technical specifications.
- Manage additional deliverables or last-minute client requests as they arise.
- Assess time and resource requirements for post-production tasks; make recommendations for scaling resources up or down based on project demands.
- Support freelance bookings and manage scheduling holds as needed.
- Supervise, mentor, and support the growth of post coordinators, assistant editors, and finishing editors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with finishing vendors, including audio mixers, colorists, and post houses.
- Coordinate and oversee daily finishing tasks across internal team members and external partners (GFX, Audio, Color, etc.).
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to oversee the entire post-production process from start to finish.
- Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines, track progress, and coordinate different departments.
- In-depth understanding of finishing and post-production workflows, including editing, color grading, audio mixing, visual effects (VFX), and mastering.
- A keen eye for visual and audio quality, ensuring the final product meets high standards.
- 2-3 years of relevant finishing and post-production experience in agency or entertainment environments.
- Experience in overseeing and managing large project deliveries with multiple tags, formats, and specs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Self-motivated & highly adaptable, able to work autonomously.
